Ellada, Bees and Honey

During far times in small Greek city there lived captain Prokulos who was engaged in trade in honey and wax. In the Ancient Greece honey considered ценнешим as gift of the nature, “ a drink of a youth ”. In a victim to gods brought the fruit spread by honey.

People considered, that honey gives gods immortality. Ancient greek scientists considered, that they managed to reach longevity owing to the use in food of honey. In the Greek mythology there are many legends about wonder-working action of honey. At Greeks the nomadic beekeeping has been developed. They sent by the ships beehives with bees to blossoming медоносам.

Captain Prokulos lived with wife Lydia and daughter Ellada by whom 18 years three days ago were executed. Once on the sea the big storm which proceeded three day has risen. When the storm has abated also the sea has calmed down, people have seen on coast fragments of the sunk sea vessel on which captain Prokulos floated. Over its destruction the wife and the daughter long mourned.

Ellada has decided to become the captain of a vessel, as its father. The vessel stood on coast and required small repair. High growth, a small breast, подстриженные hair, and menswear have made the girl similar to the young man.

Having finished repair of a vessel, Ellada has decided to type to itself a command to continue business of the father and to borrow in trade in honey and wax. Wide experience of knowledge of the sea, navigation, firm character have made Элладу the favourite captain of a vessel.

Once Ellada carried pots - beehives from the burnt clay. The sea was спойно, sailors played bones, the cook watched a galley. Suddenly on horizon the turkish galley has seemed. “ To whistle for all on top ” - the boatswain has shouted. Sailors have become agitated began to examine quickly the weapon and to prepare for fight.

At Ellada there was an interesting plan of fight with which all crew of the ship has agreed. When the vessel has overtaken a turkish galley, sailors have got on a mast of a vessel and during the moment of attack began to throw pots with bees on a galley.

Pots were broken and the angered bees stung the Turk. The Turks who are not expected such attack, waving away from bees, have surrendered in a captivity. Sailors, having armed with grids for the person, gloves for hands, sabres, have quickly grasped a galley.

The glory about victory Ellada over a turkish galley by means of bees, has reached king Richard of the first who at осаде fortresses to the Acre, has applied bees in struggle against the opponent.
