Ethel Harvey (Browne)

Ethel Brown was born in Baltimore, in 1965. She was an embryologist and cell biologist; and after completing her education, she worked part-time and as an independent research worker for most of her career.

Her work in cytology (the study of cells), was internationally recognized and she was awarded many honors, including fellowships of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the New York Academy of Sciences. She died in 1965.
