Menus provides a polyunsaturated to saturated fat ratio of 1 to 1 or better. Those at 12OO and 1800 calories are for weight reduction. The 24OO-calorie diet is for maintaining a current weight level.
These practical menus show how easy it is to eat three deliciously varied meals a day—every day . . . yet stay on a diet that's low in saturated fat, high in polyunsaturated fat, low in cholesterol, and easy to control calorically.
It is not recommended that sample menus be interchanged because the first column's breakfast, lunch, or dinner probably does not have the same calorie level as the next day's (column's) breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
