Meditation

Aids to meditation include breathing exercises, focusing the attention on particular areas of the body, or simply calming the mind.

 All of these are commonly used as a part of daily life by many people in both China and Japan and as part of normal health maintenance.

In this way - as another aspect of the general system of oriental medicine and health care - meditation complements acupuncture in a direct and practical way.
 
The calm faces of these young Buddhist monks demonstrate the effectiveness of meditation. Meditation in its many forms has been used for thousands of years by spiritual communities all over the world to clear the mind and aid concentration.

Properly practised, it focuses the mind and regulates the body, increasing purposeful and effective participation in life.
