Any acupuncturist who does not take time to look at the tongue and to feel the pulse has probably not received a traditional oriental training.

Some schools tend to stress one system over another, and in others, colours of the face and body or observation of body odours may take the place of tongue diagnosis.

However one sign of a well-trained acupuncturist is the attention he pays to these two aspects of diagnosis.
