Cold/Heat
Signs of Cold show m a pale complexion, slow movements, withdrawn manner, wanting to curl up, a general feeling of chill, lack of thirst or wanting only warm drinks.
Pains are better for warmth. There may be diarrhoea and profuse pale urine. The pulse is slow. The tongue is pale and swollen, with white fur.
Heat shows in a red face, and is typified by fever and a dislike of warmth. Irritability, thirst, constipation arc also signs, as are scanty dark urine and red skin eruptions. The pulse is fast. The tongue is red, with yellow fur.
Helps to understand the nature of the disorder. If the body is attacked by external Heat or if the Yin of the body is depleted, there will be signs of Heat. Conversely, if the body is attacked by Cold or the Yang of the body is depleted, there will be Cold.
