Water - fear - downward movement

Fear is extremely draining and depleting in the long term, and fear of facing life is at the root of many cases of depression and phobias.

This is a two-way process. Weakened Kidney energy can lead to a fearful attitude to life, or the inability to put ideas into action.

Fear is considered to affect primarily the Kidneys, making the energy descend and thereby losing control of the two lower orifices - incontinence and diarrhoea are well known both to soldiers before a battle and students before exams!
