Felting
Cut 2 lengths 20" (51 cm) of the soaker tubing and pull the Handles over the tubing before felting. They will be cut down to approximately 15" (38 cm) after the felting.
The handles should be adjusted and pushed tighter up the tubing during wash cycles. Put the knit Strips and Handles through the hottest wash cycle at least twice until knit panels have felted.
The Handles may need a third wash. Steam-press the flat panels. Pin the Vertical Strips to the Tote along the Front, Bottom, and Back. The outside edge of the Strip should line up with the outside edge of the Tote.
Trim the Strip if it is too long. It's felted, so it won't run or rip. Sew both edges of the Strips to the Tote with B, using a running stitch. The stitches and gaps should both be 1/4" (6 mm) wide.
Pin the Horizontal Strip to fit. You might need to stretch it to fit in the ease. Sew both edges with a running stitch all the way around the Tote.
Pin the bottom of the Handles to the top of the Tote about 4" (10 cm) from the top of the Tote and 11/4" (3 cm) from the Vertical Strip. Sew a rectangle of running stitches to secure to Tote. Weave in ends.
