Husband try to sabotage you diet

If family members and friends try to lure you away from your diet or criticize your weight-loss efforts, you can feel sabotaged. Let them know that you feel discouraged by their words or actions. Discuss what they can do to truly support your efforts.

Think about your goals and how your weight loss may change your relationships. Sometimes the saboteur enjoys eating and wants you to be a partner in the fun of feasting.

State your goals clearly to show that you are seriously trying to change the way you cat. It may help to consider what their goals are for you.

Sometime friends and family may want your success, but feel imposed upon if you request that they keep tempting foods out of the house. You may need to negotiate an acceptable plan.

If your family and friends are aware of their ambivalent feelings about your weight loss, you may be able to discuss how they view the pros and cons.

But many times the people sabotaging your efforts are unaware of their feelings. If you have difficulty talking about this together, you might discuss the problem with a professional counselor or your health-care provider.
