Exercise Becomes a Daily Habit

The difference a daily 30-minute walk can make in both weight loss and blood-sugar control.

Walking burns calories and lowers blood sugar. If exercise becomes a daily habit, you'll need to adjust the amount of insulin you take and the food you eat.

Another way to lose weight may be as simple as reducing the food you eat by one slice of bread per day.

One slice of bread contains 80-100 calories, and 30 slices of bread (the amount eaten in one month) is equal to approximately one pound of body weight.

Therefore, if you omit one of your usual slices of bread per day for one year, you may possibly lose up to 12 pounds!

Keep a journal of the foods you eat for 3-5 days. Also record when you eat and the emotion or situation that preceded eating.

Most people are surprised to find that they eat more than they realize, or that certain situations always trigger overeating. Keeping a food diary and learning from it will help you lose weight.
