The Easiest Knit Bag Ever

A perfect first project for a beginning knitter. The design is simple, and the chunky yarn makes for quick knitting—and almost instant gratification!

SIZE
8" wide x 9" long (20.5x23 cm), excluding Handle

Materials
Lion brand fun fur stripes 100% polyester 11/2 oz (40 G) medium    5 7 yd (52 M) ball
1 ball #300 Cotton Candy (A) or color of your choice

Lion Brand Homespun
98% Acrylic, 2% Polyester 6 oz (170 C) 185 yd (167 m) Skein

1 skein #385 Fuchsia (B) or color of your choice
Size 13 (9 mm) knitting needles or size to obtain gauge
Large-eyed, blunt needle

Gauge
8 stitches + 16 rows = 4" (10 cm) in garter stitch (knit every row; with 1 strand each of A and B held together. Be sure to check your gauge.

Bag
With 1 strand each of A and B held together, cast on 16 stitches. Work in garter stitch until piece measures 18" (45.5 cm) from beginning. Bind off.

Handle
Cast on 60 stitches. Bind off.

Finishing
Fold Bag in half and sew side seams. Attach handle to Bag at side seams. Weave in ends.
