Tomato or Cucumber Sandwiches

These sandwiches are very attractive for a spring tea party.
Cut:
Small rounds of bread

Spread them lightly with:
Butter
Place on each round, covering it completely:
Small round of sliced tomato or a large round of pared sliced cucumber or both

Decorate each sandwich with a generous:
Dab of mayonnaise

For daintiness, but not for food value, slice  tomatoes,  then  drain  them  for 2 hours to keep the sandwiches from being soggy.
