Descriptions of this situation in the literature are rare, perhaps because this phenomenon is not as widespread as the previous one. Finally, long-term marriage in which husband and wife drink, is a marriage of alcoholics. 

This is a special situation, when the couple find themselves in abnormal psychological dependence on each other: to live in the same alcoholic reveries, feel equally rejected by society and are equally dependent on the same "elixir of life" - from alcohol. 

They can not go away, because they have nowhere to go, because no one else, except such as alcoholics, they do not understand.  But those - their problems, and to fully replace the lost spouse (sometimes fiercely hated), none of them can not.
