Textured Sweater
The simplest of all textured stitches, moss/seed stitch is used here to create a snug sweater. Worked in a bright, chunky yarn, this cover-up doesn't even need buttonholes. Just cast on and your dog will soon be wrapped up warmly.

Needles and extras
Pear each of US 11 (8 mm) and US 15 (10 mm) knitting needles 3( 3: 4: 4: 5) x 20 mm/3/4 in diameter buttons
Tension/Gauge
9 sts and 16 rows to 4 in/10 cm over moss/seed stitch using US 15 (10 mm) needles.
Abbreviations
Dec2 (decrease 2) slip one stitch, work 2 stitches together, pass slipped stitch over.
Sweater
Using US 11 (8 mm) needles, cast on 49 (53: 57: 63: 69: 73: 77) sts.
Row 1 Kl, *P1, Kl, rep from * to end.
Last row is repeated to form moss/seed st patt.
Work 5 rows more in moss/seed st.
Change to US 15 (10 mm) needles.
Cont in moss/seed st until sweater measures 3 (4: 5: 6X: ТА: 8A: 10) in/8 (10: 13: 17: 19: 21: 26) cm/from cast-on edge, ending with a WS row.
Divide for leg holes
Keeping moss/seed st patt correct throughout, cont as foil: Next row (RS) Patt 7(9:9:9:9:11:13), work 2tog, then turn, leaving rem sts on a holder.
Working on these 8 (10: 10: 10: 10: 12: 14) sts only, cont as foil: Work 1 row.
Next row (RS) Patt to last 2 sts, work 2tog. 7 (9: 9: 9: 9: 11: 13) sts.
Work 5 (5: 5: 5: 9: 9: 9) rows more.
Place these sts on another holder and DO NOT break off yarn but set this ball aside to use later. With RS facing, join a new ball of yarn at first leg divide on first holder and, keeping patt correct throughout, work 2tog, patt 5 (5: 7: 9: 13: 13: 13), work 2tog, then turn, leaving rem sts on the holder. 7 (7: 9: 11: 15: 15: 15) sts. Work 1 row.
Next row (WS) Work 2tog, patt to last 2 sts, work 2tog. 5 (5: 7: 9: 13: 13: 13) sts. Work 3 rows.
Next row Work 2tog, patt to last 2 sts, work 2tog. 3 (3: 5:

Sew collar on to sweater. Using the photograph as a guide, sew on buttons equally spaced along one edge of sweater. To fasten sweater, push buttons through fabric of opposite edge.
