Acupuncture During Pregnancy

In China, acupuncture is also used to treat certain problems that occur during pregnancy, such as excessive morning sickness, or malposition of the foetus.

 Traditionally, specific treatments are also given to the mother during the third and sixth month of pregnancy to aid the development of the foetus.

In general, conditions that are conventionally treated by drugs, which could be harmful to the unborn child, may be treated by acupuncture during pregnancy, to avoid the risk of some damaging effect. Even so, in all cases intervention is kept to a minimum.
